For the Attention of anyone with Video content on Stream Classic.

Hello,

The Stream service, now called Stream Classic has been deprecating for the last few years which started with the moving of recorded Teams meetings in to Ondrive/Sharepoint back in 2020/21, and is now coming to the final stages of closure regarding access to all other video content.

Access has been removed, as per their time line of the process as all videos should have been migrated away from their service by now, however it has come to my knowledge some users still have content on there, as they were not aware of this closure.

Luckily we have a grace period of which I can re-enable Read only access, so please use this time to move any videos from the service over to the new “Stream On Sharepoint” service you now have access to. If you have trouble doing this, please ask ITHelpline@southessex.ac.uk and we can use a migration tool that will do its best to find any content you own. We would prefer not to migrate old meeting recordings, due to the natural expiration of such recordings, so please ask if you want these included.

“Stream On Sharepoint” is the new central access point for videos, that have been used in Teams, Onedrive or Sharepoint.

Access will be granted until end of February.

HOW TO DO I GET THERE?

Accessing classic Stream is done via the new interface, which is in turn accessible via your Office365 Apps tray along with all your other apps.

You can access the apps tray shown below by logging in to your https://outlook.office365.com account via the website, and choosing the app launcher waffle.

Once clicked, the classic page will be shown, where you can use the usual links to find and view your content, under “MyContent” or use the search to find more.
